marketing t-shirts – Marketing Your T-Shirt-Clothing Line Offline
To market a t-shirt clothing line offline the most important key to success is not putting all your eggs in one basket and marketing relentlessly. You don't need to spend a lot of money to market your t-shirt company effectively, but you do need to spend a lot of time and energy. The first thing you need to do is talk your site up wherever you go. Print brochures and business cards and if you meet some new people let them know you are in business. Join clubs, your local chamber of commerce, and frequent bookstores/coffee shops to talk to people. When networking start asking about what they do and ask some open ended questions until inevitably the topic will switch to what you do. Talk up your clothing line/t-shirt site. You can even use your friends as t-shirt models to get people involved as much as possible.
To generate some buzz you want to get some good word of mouth. Have your friends and family mention your line or site to others as much as possible. Target people in industries that get to talk to their customers at their jobs. For example you might want to give some hair stylists some free t-shirts or the mailman etc and they might talk up your line to their customers. Do everything you can to generate positive word of mouth.
Posting a flier at a local community bulletin board or at the local university is another way to get your t-shirt name out there without spending a bundle. You could even make some very low key posters and post them in university dorm buildings to show that you are less corporate than most marketers. You can run t-shirt contests with bars for the best kareoke singer and award a free shirt. Also don't be afraid to be weird and silly to market . Maybe dress up in a jester outfit and sign twirl the name of your web site or if you have dignity think of something else. The possibilities offline are endless it just takes ingenuity and hard work.
